Schapelle Corby: the Truth?
Published 1 year, 11 months ago in Making News.In a recent interview with a friend of Schapelle Corby, it was revealed that Schapelle knew of the drugs and it was all a scam! But then again she could have made it all up for the money, so who knows! Well what did you think before this was revealed? Were you sure she was guilty or were you sure whe was inncocent, or like me, were you totally unsure?
I look forward to reading your replies.
Thank you.

In the beginning I thought that she may have been innocent. But I don’t believe she is now. I don’t really have a reason for why I think she is guilty. It might just be all the media that has changed my mind.
I felt they were stupid for trying to import MJ into that country full of drugs, I feel that they actually thought that they could get away with it… now this confirms it! She was not alone at that airport was she?
Was there ever any doubt?
Glad to hear they haven’t locked up an innocent person, I wouldn’t swap such a valuable and entertaining celebrity for the world! Mind you, Shapelle’s (former) friend stands to be a high ranking celebrity herself - could mean big bucks for her!!! “A Current Affair”, “Woman’s Day”, and surely “Who Magazine” and “Woman’s Weekly” couldn’t let this pass. If she plays her cards right she may even get a spot in the Mecca of all Celebrity, “Dancing With The Stars” - or should that be “Dobbing On The Stars”
I was unsure, and I still am unsure about this girl’s position.
I feel inclined now to think that she is possibly guilty, but may have been pressured into doing it, or something like that.
However this is simply an unintelligent guess, and nothing more.
Why don’t the Indonesians just take fingerprints off the bloody bag and be done with it? If her prints are found on it - she’s obviously touched it and has definately been associated with it - at some stage.
If not - then it is very possible that she is innocent.
Whatever the case - it appears that her trial has been weak and until better evidence is produced it seems very incomplete.
I thought she was guilty, just 20 years a bit tough. now she has had some reductions I think justice has been served well, better than here
Is she gonna get out early or something if she admits to knowing all about it or something? That is stupid. Didnt she write a book?
Mmmm - wonder if anyone would have read a book by Schapelle Corby if she hadn’t been busted for drug traffiking!
Would they read one by her now? I wouldn’t pay for the story of a drug trafficker. Is she allowed to profit from her crime?
I hope the rest of her friends and family enjoy the profits of her story… seem like they plan to fight it out in the press and perhaps her ability to receive extra time off her sentence.
i cant exactly say the person who was paid hundreds of thousands to be on the dodgy 630pm aussie tv timeslot (who has a record of losing her children due to hallucinations and other welfare agency orders removing her children) is that credible a “witness” in the court of tv. if u had a grudge, were a bit crazy and could earn $300K (more than u would the rest of your life) for a 6 minute interview..
personally, i think the brother who was on the flight and boogy boards… and was recently found guilty in aussie courts of a violent home invasion to steal illegal drugs..
the whole thing smells… as do the courts over there.. when the bombs arent going off.
I think the brother may have set her up thinking they might check his bag but not hers. I just don’t know.I didn’t watch the TV interview b/c any story could come from any one that knows her, only to line their own pockets. From what I’ve heard this ex- friend was only in it for the money. Why else would she only come out now, and why not tell the truth before hand. As for evidence the Indonesion Government destroyed any so finger prints cannot be taken. Remember Lindy Chamberlain ,this is going to be one of those, never really knowing. Although in Lindy’s case I was in the minority in thinking she was innocent. This one I’m not sure, she does come across as being innocent. Then again she could be a very good actress Who knows?
Always thought that she was guilty if not of drug trafficking of stupidity. Over the whole family they have not done anything to redeem themselves. It is a pity that we are going to have Shapelle and her family shoved in our faces on the news and current affair program for the next 2 decades.
The age news website yesterday said that this friend who spoke out is giving the money from her interview to the people who donated money to pay for Schapelle Corby’s defense (since her family didn’t pay the lawyers what they were owed and the money was used for unknown reasons by the Corby family). The article has since been removed from the age website.
Anyone who has spoken out on both sides seems suss, but if this lady isn’t keeping any money I’d be inclined to believe her over a family who used public donations for their personal use and her drug dealing brother. BTW Mercedes who was being paid to speak out too. The Corby family didn’t want their lawyers to have of the drugs testing for their origin. Why would an innocent person not grasp onto any lifeline possible? I’d happily have them test the origin of drugs if I knew I was innocent.
Mercedes was using her standing as a mother to proclaim her innocence, their friend is a mother too, so I guess she can’t be lying based on the Corby logic.
A very silly girl who ultimately has to live with the harsh reality of her stupidity….. a family and hanger ons that seem to to be revelling in the notoriety of it all…..but all in all its becoming a bit tedious now.
Mercedes seems to be screaming like a banchee when you see on the news.. I’m guessing she can plead the innocents of Shapelle, because I think the brother did it! Shapelle and the family I think thought they could talk their way out of the Indonesian legal system because the police got the wrong Corby Clan member!! I think he did it and she took the fall… & I agree with vivavoce ” A Very Silly Girl who has to live with her decision” But words can’t describe a brother who lets his sister stay in jail while he does house invasions in Australia & because of our weak legal system he will be out on the streets before Shapelle is..
We will never know the truth will we, but there is one indisputable piece of evidence, the BOOGIE BOARD BAG!!.
I felt she was guilty at the time, her and her families shenanigans only go more to prove that they all have something to think about.
I would not trust ANY of them based on what we have heard so far.
Like I said, we will never know the truth, but i’m banking on guilty for all of them
THIS IS MY OPINION based on the evidence presented in the media.
COCO!
Ever since Schapelle was arrested she pleaded for the bags to be finger printed, her bags to be weighed and checked against the check-in weight AND for the drugs to be DNA tested. Hardly the actions of a person who, by the completion of these tests, could have been proved disasterous for her.
The Indonesian authorities refused the finger printing and passed ther bags around many people. They also attempted to force Schapelle and her travelling companions to handle the bag, which they refused to do.
Weighing the bags was also refused for some obscure reason.
DNA testing of thedrugs was also refused as the Indonesian police ‘new it was marijuana’.
On 3 December 2004 Schapelle signed a letter, in ther presence of the Australian Consulate, requesting the Australian Federal Police test the drugs.
On 7 January 2005 the AFP advised that Kapolda (the Indonesian Police) advised that they would not release the drugs for testing.
Vasu Rasiah is NOT a Lawyer but has been described as either an engineer or a land developer. The sample of drugs that he wanted tested had been obtained illegally and any testing could not therefore be used in court, but rather would have been more detrimental to the case. It was also Vasu who tried to obtain a further $500,000 from the Australian Government as a ‘negotiating fund’.
As for Schapelle - iNNOCENT
At the start I thought she was innocent..
But now I’m not to sure, I wouldn’t be suprised if the brother was involved
I have thought and know Schapelle was guilty from the start. I just know she is,its a feeling I have. My intinct is right. One example of my strong feelings is,When I was a young girl and the Fairlie Arrow story was on I told my mum then she was lying, that she wasnt kidnapped or kept against her will,my mum didnt believe me,then it later showed in a few days time she was lying. My mum was shocked but dismissed my ideas. This is no different.Shapelle has also blamed everyone but herself. And its a strong feeling I get that ive never ignored or changed my mind.Shes always been guilty to me.My mother as usual disagrees and takes Schapelles side!! she feels sorry for her,and hasnt heard the bad stuff against Schappelle.I dont feel sorry for her, sure 20 years is tough, but you have to respect a countries laws,if your going to do the wrong thing your going to get caught.Oh also to predict Schapelle will end up in Australia soon to do her time in An Australian jail, this year or next. Also there will be a movie made, based on HER story. Also Schappelle will get away with her crime, get away with it that although she”ll do her sentence in an Aussie jail, people wont find out her lies. That she was guilty to begin with.Oh and in comparism to Lindy Chamberlains case its ridiculas to compare, lindy was innocent without a doubt. There should never had been a dividening of opinions in that case.
The Facts are…
· Schapelle checked in her bag at Brisbane airport and neither she, nor her travelling companions, had any contact with it until after it arrived in Bali.
· Schapelle’s travelling companion’s luggage and Schapelle’s own luggage were also never searched. Why not?
· Neither the Indonesian nor the Australian governments wanted to, or did investigate this case. There was no investigation into where or how Schapelle intended to sell the marijuana, if indeed the Bali police truly believed her guilty.
· The Bali Police refused to analyse the marijuana that convicted her. Hair from those who grew it would be in the resin. They didn’t want anyone to investigate. Later, this marijuana was destroyed, destroying any chance it could be used to acquit Schapelle. Why?
No DNA Analysis! No Fingerprint Analysis! All Evidence Destroyed! Why?
Marijuana inserted at Bali Airport
To suggest that Schapelle got a strong smelling, pillow-case-sized bag of drugs through both Brisbane and Sydney airports undetected, bypass check-in staff, x-ray machines, scanners, sniffer dogs, police, customs and baggage handlers is absolutely ludicrous! Remember the bag was slashed to release the smell of marijuana. You can’t mistake it!
Schapelle Begged For a Full Police Investigation!
Guilty people don’t beg for more investigation or sign documents requesting DNA analysis of the drugs that would contain their hair fibres. Guilty people don’t beg for the preservation of fingerprints. They don’t stand on principle and insist on their innocence when a guilty plea offers so many advantages…Schapelle did!
A Systemic Miscarriage Of Justice!
Indonesian Code of Criminal Procedure (KUHAP) breached!
International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) breached!
Indonesian Police Chief admits case flawed and only 50% complete.
Indonesian court refused to test the marijuana to determine its origin.
Judges contaminated the evidence in court before the public.
Customs officers refused to follow basic investigative procedures.
Evidence destroyed in 2006 before all appeals were heard!
An Innocent Australian Fights for Justice!
This could happen to anyone of us!
You people have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. You “KNOW” she’s guilty? You don’t know why… you just KNOW? How dumb is that?
How about you read her book and you will just KNOW she is innocent. I have not met one person who believes in her guilt after reading the book. All the facts are there in black and white. Don’t comment until you know both sides to the story.
Otherwise you can choose to be like the majority of ignorant Australians (who don’t read). You can choose to believe the fake stories being shoved down your throat by the media. These stories have been proven false if you care to check!
And Cassie - the majority of Australians thought Lindy Chamberlain was guilty. Really you should not comment on anything if you are going to get the facts so wrong.
Why have the police not torn the Corby house apart looking for drugs? Why have they made no arrests in Corby’s imaginary drug smuggling ring? Why did the Bali police not search Mercedes or Schapelle’s traveling companions? The Bali Police refused to follow mandatory investigative procedures - no doubt they set her up to extort money!
I thought right from the start she was guilty and I only voiced it when asked and people shot me down in flames like “How could this poor girl be jailed for that, it’s wrong etc etc and the homepage had her at 81% innocent. Of the media only Darren Hinch spoke out and he copped it bigtime!
Now we see more of this ‘family’ and the very same brother that was with her at the airport with the boogie board is had up on dealing marijuana?
I wonder how much egg is on faces NOW and what a vote would show now. I’m almost 100% she did it and had history behind her with the family.
Anyways that’s my 2cents!
OMG what a scumbag family! in the begining i wasn’t sure of her guilt or innocence but after watching this show it’s obvious that schapelle and her family are low lifes and used that poor guy for his money then dumped him in s##t! CARMA! CARMA! CARMA! Don’t bite the hand that feeds you Schapelle. Does she have a brain of her own? You get what you give. By the way what a dope her brother is and i’d be ashamed if that was my dad. Who does he think he is? LOL
I just viewed the HBO special. I sat in the Federal courts of the U.S. for over 10 years listening to testimony from a wide spectrum of witnesses. You gain a lot of insight when you listen to how people answer questions (and plead for their freedom). From the beginning, I thought that if not directly involved in this crime, Ms. Corby had guilty knowledge of its commission.
Further, why were she and her lawyer so infatuated with the verdict being televised live instead of focusing on what the outcome may be?
I my heart of hearts, I believe that her brother was involved in this mess without Ms. Corby’s consent or with her qualified consent. Drug dealer’s always think that they’re smarter than the authorities. To give you a reading on this Gashouse Gang - they were caught by minions in a 3rd world country! Not too smart.
Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time. God Bless you.
The truth is that Schapelle is innocent and her brother is responsible for the marijuana that was packed in the bag.
The truth may come to light, maybe it won’t but the bottomline is that she is paying for the smuggling of marijuana. Once again, her brother is responsible for it. Sources and information that has not been released has confirmed this.
I watched the show tonight on HBO and while I don’t know if she had knowledge or not I did think her step brother looked very suspecious in the documentary.
after watching the tv special tonight- my first reaction wass this beautiful sweet girl was innocent. but i now feel she was selling pot. and whats worse is that her family may have all been in on it- possibly her brother and maybe even her sister and mother- people will do anything to make alot of money and if they thought they could sell pot and make aot of cash- they would. also i just found out they have found a photograph taken before schapelle was found guilty thats show her in the photo with a man who is a known and convicted pot smuggler. so now im 100% sure shes guilty but id like to see the photo to be certain and also i still believe her family was somehow involved with this drug smuggle. but we may never know the real truth. anyway if i was on the jury i wouldnt want to convict because a death penalty is too high and even though she got 20 years in prison i still feel this is way too severe. if she were sent free now she could be a great contributor to society and is not a threat like a murderer would be. this is drugs we are talking about, not cold murder or anything like that and even though i hate pot and never smoke it. id like to say that some people need it for actual medical purposes and should be entitled to it if it is really medically needed for cancer patients and such. schapelle corby will be 50 years old when she gets out of prison and thats very sad.
Innocent or guilty, she has more than done her time. She is serving the sentence of what we in the U.S. would server for murder…. and she possibly smuggled pot?!?!There are far worse violent crimes commited in that country that serve a much reduced sentence. Something just isn’t right in this case!
who cares, innoent or guilty were talking about weed and nobody deserves that kind of sentens for something you can find growing wild on the ground let the poor girl go home
GUILTY! All the Freudian slips that her and her hillbilly family have used in the interviews, what a joke. YOu can easily deduce at a glance that her entire family had done this type of traffiking several times before. They just got caught, and instead of losing the loser brother they lost the pretty sister, whoope do, they fugged up big. 20 years is better than life, but still a harsh sentence.
moral: Next time someone asks you to bring contraband into a third world country, decline.
